# TitanCharts v4.5.0: 25 intervals and a sharper chart

Traders think in timeframes: seconds for a scalper, days for a swing trader, months and years for an investor. v4.5.0 gives your users all of them. The chart now offers **25 intervals from 1 second to 1 year** instead of nine, on the built-in DataFeed or any feed that reports the intervals it serves, in an interval menu rebuilt to keep that many easy to scan.

Around the intervals, the chart gets sharper. Apps on the built-in DataFeed also move to a new data connection, with one date to plan around.

> **TL;DR:** 25 intervals and a sharper chart. Most apps upgrade with no code change: see [Upgrading](#upgrading).

## Every interval, from one second to one year

![The chart header's interval menu open, with intervals sorted into Seconds, Minutes, Hours and Days sections and each row spelled out](/news/v4-5-interval-menu.png)
*Four sections, each sorted by duration. A click on a section header folds it.*

Next to the original nine, the chart now offers 5, 15 and 30 seconds; 2, 3, 10 and 45 minutes; 2, 6, 8 and 12 hours; 3 days; and monthly, quarterly, half-year and yearly bars that open on UTC calendar dates.

To keep that list easy to scan, the header interval menu folds it into **Seconds**, **Minutes**, **Hours** and **Days** sections, each sorted by duration, with every row spelled out: "5 minutes", "6 months". Folded sections are saved in chart state, so a restored layout opens the way your user left it. An interval the feed doesn't serve on the shown market is left out of the menu. And your product decides the shape: `intervalGroups` puts a Scalp section on top, renames Days to Swing, or starts Hours folded ([Interval Menu](/docs/features/interval-menu#reshaping-the-sections)).

Every interval a market offers now loads, too, from yearly bars on HIP-3 to every interval on prediction markets, live. Platforms that register their own intervals get a new half-year calendar unit ([Custom Intervals](/docs/features/custom-intervals)).

## A sharper chart

![The price axis with compact value pills that fit their numbers: the last price in full color, indicator and reference pills blended into the axis](/news/v4-5-price-pills.png)
*Pills that fit their number: the last price keeps its full color, everything else steps back.*

**Quieter price-axis pills.** Value pills (the last price, indicator values, High / Low, previous close, Bid / Ask) now fit their number and stand 17 px tall at the default axis font, instead of a 22 px bar across the whole axis. Indicator and reference pills blend into the axis, so the last price stands out, and pill text switches to black or white wherever its tinted shade would read below 4.5:1. `setPriceLabelMode('fill')` and `priceLabelPaddingY: 5.5` bring back the old pills ([Price Axis Pill Mode](/docs/api-reference/chart-methods#price-axis-pill-mode)).

![The Ruler measuring a range: the chart outside the span dimmed, and a readout card beside the end price with the move, percent, bars, time and volume](/news/v4-5-ruler.png)
*One card with the move, its percent, the bars, the time and the volume traded.*

**A Ruler that reads at a glance.** The Ruler draws its measured range as a focus: the chart outside the span dims, and a card beside the end price shows the move and its percent, then bars, time and traded volume. The range shows as soft tags on both axes, and the Ruler's colors follow your candle colors.

**Cleaner drawing tools.** Price Range, Date Range and Date & Price Range label in the tool's own color, and the date tools add the traded volume of their span. Long and Short Position labels print the target and stop with a signed percent and points, Anchored VWAP colors its rising and falling stretches with your candle colors, and on touch screens each tap places one point, with a magnifier above the finger ([Drawing Tools](/docs/features/drawing-tools)).

**Legend, profiles and screens.** Legend rows fold with an arrow before the title, and a row too wide for the chart folds its last values behind a `+N` chip. [Volume profiles](/docs/features/indicators/volume-profile-guide) keep their POC, VAH and VAL inside the traded range, and [TPO](/docs/features/indicators/tpo-guide) holds its point of control and value area in place under vertical zoom. A chart moved to a screen with a different pixel density redraws sharp without a reload.

## Also in this release

- **[Steadier reconnection](/docs/releases/migrating-to-v4.5#reconnection).** `data:reconnecting` fires once per drop on every connection, a connection that misses a 10-second check is closed and reopened, and a refused access token is refreshed and retried on every connection.
- **Charts stay in their element.** A chart created with `TitanChartController.create(el)` stays inside `el`, without filling the viewport or covering a header or a second chart.
- **Less than half the CSS.** `style.css` drops from 737 KB to 347 KB, 75 KB gzipped. The chart looks the same.
- **[Hyperliquid heatmaps where they work](/docs/features/indicators/heatmap-guide#hyperliquid-liquidation-heatmap).** The Liquidation and TP/SL heatmaps are offered on Hyperliquid perpetuals, HIP-3 included.

## Upgrading

Upgrade `@titancharts/react` to 4.5.0. Screenshot tests need new baselines for the chart's new look, and the [Migrating to v4.5](/docs/releases/migrating-to-v4.5) guide lists the few type changes some apps need. The legend now prints indicator names and legend text as written, so an app that put HTML in them, or links in tooltip lines, follows [Text instead of HTML](/docs/releases/migrating-to-v4.5#text-instead-of-html).

### If you use the built-in DataFeed

Upgrade both packages together:

```bash
npm install @titancharts/react@^4.5.0 @titancharts/data@^4.5.0
```

v4.5.0 moves the DataFeed's history, market search and market metadata to a new data connection. It works against the current servers, so your team can upgrade and test right away. **Versions before 4.5.0 stop loading history, search and metadata when the old connection is retired on Tuesday, 10 November 2026.** After that, a chart on an older version draws no candles and its market search is empty.

Most apps need no code change. If you create the DataFeed with a license key or an auth proxy and pass it to the chart, upgrading both packages is the whole job, and the old server and reconnection option names still work as deprecated. A few apps need small edits, such as code that reads `getServerUrls()`, keys reconnection listeners on the old connection names, or serves its own worker file. If a proxy of yours forwards the data connections, start with [Server URLs](/docs/releases/migrating-to-v4.5#server-urls). The **[Migrating to v4.5](/docs/releases/migrating-to-v4.5)** guide lists every case with its fix.

Your developers will find the full per-package changelog in the [release notes](/docs/releases/release-notes). New to the platform? The **[quickstart](/docs/quickstart)** gets a chart on screen in minutes, on the latest version, always.

**Building a trading platform?** Everything in this post ships in a white-label chart you can brand end-to-end and shape to your product. [Talk to us](/contact) for a walkthrough on your own data.

Thanks for building on TitanCharts.
